Nashville breweries join national companies to brew beer for Relief Funds

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Breweries across the nation, including some right here in Nashville, are coming together to help victims of the deadly Camp Fire in California.

The "Resilience Butte County Proud IPA" will be brewed at more than 1,000 breweries nationwide. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go toward the Camp Fire Relief Fund, created by Sierra Nevada.

Some Nashville breweries joining the cause include TailGate Brewery, Jackalope Brewing Company, The Black Abbey Brewing Company and Yazoo Brewing Company. Over in east Tennessee, Yee Haw brewery out of Jonson City will also be brewing the beer. It will be available in a few weeks.

The Camp Fire is the nation's deadliest wildfire in a century that killed at least 85 people, and hundreds are on a list of those unaccounted for. The number of missing dropped in recent days as officials confirmed that more people were alive.

Crews continued sifting through ash and debris for human remains.

The fire began Nov. 8 in the parched Sierra Nevada foothills and quickly spread across 240 square miles (620 square kilometers), destroying most of Paradise in a day.

Nearly 19,000 buildings, most of them homes, are gone.
