An official trailer for Donald Glover's upcoming film has finally made its theatrical debut.
The multi-hyphenate artist, known as Childish Gambino, took to Instagram on Thursday, June 27, to announce the trailer for his upcoming film Bando Stone & The New World and flash off a pair of tickets for a special screening of A Quiet Place: Day 1. The clip premiered ahead of the Quiet Place prequel starring Lupita Nyong'o. In the upcoming movie produced by RCA Records and the artist's creative company Gilga, Glover stars as artist "Bando Stone" who goes on an adventure with English actress Jessica Allain in an apocalyptic world.
The creepy clip begins with Glover as he walks aimlessly around a town after everyone seemingly disappears. Once he runs into Allain and a young girl, all three join forces to survive in a new world. As of this report, a target date for the film's debut has not been confirmed and the trailer hasn't officially been released. Fortunately for fans, a visual recording of the trailer did make its way to the Internet.
In the days leading up to the trailer's release, several outlets reported that Glover is planning to drop a project called "Lithonia" next week. According to Variety, the reports stemmed from a post by a streaming service that contained the graphic with the project's title and the release date. The post was immediately removed, but screenshots are forever. Glover hopped on Instagram Live earlier this week and confirmed "Lithonia" is a song that will be a precursor to his upcoming soundtrack.
Glover is expected to drop an album to accompany his film, which will reportedly be his final project as Childish Gambino. He confirmed the news during an episode of GILGA Radio back in April. Shortly after he announced his plans, Glover released his album Atavista, which is a revamped version of his previous pandemic-era LP 3.15.20. He also revealed the dates for his upcoming world tour.
