Drake isn't fazed by any of the savage bars Kendrick Lamar fired at him.
The Boy barely flinched from all the hate-filled punchlines on the Compton native's long-awaited diss track "Euphoria." After his other foes shared their reactions to the surprise song, Drake couldn't help but troll his arch nemesis foe on social media. He took to his Instagram Story late Tuesday night, April 30, and trolled Lamar by posting a Julia Stiles' infamous monologue from the 1999 film 10 Things I Hate About You. The clip was meant to mock the part in Lamar's verse where he lists the things he hates about Drake, but it seems like Drizzy may have missed the point.
In the song, Lamar raps, "It's always been about love and hate, now let me say I'm the biggest hater/I hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk, I hate the way that you dress/I hate the way that you sneak diss, if I catch flight, it's gon' be direct." The lyrics appear to be a nod to DMX's infamous moment on The Breakfast Club in 2012. During a discussion about his favorite lyricists, X declared he didn't like Drake and listed off the various reasons why.
"I don't like anything about Drake," X said at the time. "I don't like his f**king voice. I don't like the things he talks about. I don't like his face. I don't like the way he walks. Nothing. I don't like his haircut."
Drake may have posted the clip for laughs, but fans instantly suspected that Lamar's bars had gone completely over his head. The hateful lyrics were among several other vicious lyrics scattered throughout the six-minute diss track. In addition to Drake, other artists like Lil Yachty, Sexyy Red, Gunna and the OVO squad all caught stray shots.
Despite all the hate, Drizzy is ready to return fire. According to his friend DJ Akademiks, Drake is preparing his next diss track "Hi Whitney," which is an obvious reference to Lamar's wife.
"He literally said, 'If you think this is fire you have no idea what I got coming,'" Ak explained.
